sleigh ride

 Each fall our school participates in a food drive.

 As a thank you for the efforts each school puts in

the organizers of the food drive 

offer a sleigh ride.

 Our principal offered this special outing

to the choir as a reward for all their hard work.

 Yesterday was not quite as frigid

and it turned out to be the perfect day for

a sleigh ride.

 After the first sleigh ride

we had a big lunch of hot dogs!

The kids could have as many as 3!

A few of them actually managed that. :)

 After the second ride

we all enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate 

to send us on our way.

The kids were thrilled.

They'd had such a good time

and I was thrilled because they all behaved so well

and had had so much fun.

There were murmurings on the playground later on

from kids interested in joining choir next year

so they could go on the sleigh ride.

I say - whatever works!

Of course there's no guarantee that the choir will

be the recipient of the sleigh ride again next year -

but of course I won't tell them that!
