On our way back to Manitoba
we took "the long way home" and
drove through the town of Frank.
This town was buried on April 29, 1903 when
90 million tons of limestone broke off of
Turtle Mountain.
In less than 100 seconds, the slide traveled 3 kilometres.
We both remember visiting Frank Slide when we were kids
and it was still a very sobering experience to return here.
